Andrias Japonicus!

Hi bloggers!

How are you? I´m a little confused because I didn´t realize the teacher was in the lab when I thought he wasn’t came to the university today. Well, that was a strange way for start a Friday.

What’s the topic of this week? (Originally this week, I know that I made my last post too late xD ) Well, I’ve always been a fanatic of all the related with the nature, and above all, with the living beings. That includes trees, sponges, archaeas, dinosaurs, crustaceous, swans, jellyfishes, inclusive the protozoans! But loving them and all that, I’ve never had a pet… Maybe I had opportunities in the past for adopt one pet, but I decide share my life with one, only when I be independent, at least in my own economy.
But thinking about the future, there are so many pets I would like to have! Sincerely I´m afraid of turn my first house into a zoo…But well, I have to choice for only one this time, so I will choice a little boy called “Giant Salamander”!

What’s a Giant Salamander strictly?  A Giant Salamander is that: an enormous salamander!

The salamanders are amphibians, although they could seem lizards, by their physical aspect. So the salamanders and the tritons too, have a skin so slimy and oily, like other amphibians.  A salamander likes the wetlands and they are found principally in Asia. As a crazy characteristic, a Salamander is capable of regenerate its limbs! :O Simply amazing guys!

But, a particular species likes to me since a lot of years ago. Is the called Giant Salamander, called of that way because it could have a length of almost 1.5 mts .!!! Only imagine that: you are resting a Saturday in the night with your friends, when suddenly, a giant Japanese lizard-but no lizard appears from the pool and all your friends scream and laugh for the senseless of the scene! Hahahahah that’s hilarious, but I love those animals! Sometimes they are unknown for the most of people and the people fear them, but they are so inoffensive, at least for a human being! So you have nothing for to worry about J

For the last point, a curious thing about those guys is their long live: they could live at 50 years in captivity! So I believe it would be a good partner for a lot of years J

See you

Somebody said buffet?

Hi bloggers!

I must accept my fault. Today is Thursday and I haven’t seen the blog. What’s the reason? I don´t know exactly, but it must be by the habit of enter to the blog only the Friday during the class xD
Well, leaving aside the pretexts, I will introduce you a topic related with good memories and very tasty memories too.  It’s about a special meal.

I was thinking, and there are many meals I remember for one or another reason. But one of the funniest was when I was 17 years old. It was during the high school, and my classmates and I were visiting an exposition called “Bodies: The Exhibition” in Las Condes, specify next to “Parque Arauco”. That exhibition had preserved human bodies dissected to display bodily systems. And well, after that beautiful experience (For me at least, since I always have been a fanatic of the biology), we made a journey searching a good place where we could have a memorable lunch. So we found a well-known restaurant called Gatsby, and when we saw a little discount in the price of the bigger buffet in the restaurant, immediately we decided for that place. All what you can eat for only $7.000 Chilean pesos! Hahahah that was wonderful! We ate the enormous and diverse list of food that the restaurant employees offered to us. We are so excited and fascinated! Joking and eating as if the world were to end.

I love the sea products, and I remember that I ate salmon in industrial quantities! At the point what I didn’t eat a dessert, because it wasn’t necessary. But the great variety of desserts was awesome!
Sometimes I think I could have exterminated some salmon species that day…
Resuming, that's a good memory of my school days, a this is a little representation of how a simple activity like a lunch could turn into a good story with the necessary components: friends + smoked salmon :)

See you!

Shells and Memories!

Hi bloggers! How are you? I´m tired, but I don´t know the reason xD Until today my week have not been so bad. I remember the reason! Today is Friday! And I don´t have many ideas for to write. But let’s do in anyway.

What’s the topic of today? In this opportunity I will talk you about a curious thing. I don´t remember so good the time when it happened, but I estimate I should happen when I had 9 or 10 years old.  My family (my mother, my father and my little brother) and I traveled to the seventh region of Chile, particularly to the coastal city called “Constitucion”. The amazing of the trip was what we didn´t visit that place during the summer, like a normal family do; enjoying the perfect mixture created by the water, the sand and the sun. In fact, we made a trip in the winter, specifically on July of that year that I don´t remember. Yeah, our adventure was marked by the rain, a bit of cold and the strong wind. Personally I liked that journey so much, because I love the winter and the rain fascinate to me. I believe what my mother didn´t like it, since she is not too attached to the cold seasons.

Talking about what I did in that place, I must be honest: I have mental blocks about since that happened a lot of years ago. But I remember one thing in particular.

One time my brother and I went to the nearest beach while a strong downpour was fallen, and we saw an extraordinary event: in the sand were a lot of exoskeletons of crustaceous and shells of mollusks!  I remember the image so good: the entire sand cover with those leftovers. I didn´t realize the impact of the tides or the waves or anything like that. The only was a beautiful memory about how the nature operates.

That spectacle teaches me a hidden part of the coastal zones that we can´t see if we visited that places in the summer only :)

See you!

Just imagine something like that, but with rain :D
